Why Therapy?

Therapy is usually not the first tool most people think of when it comes to managing what life throws at us, but it can be a transformative step when the usual methods we once turned to no longer serve us. Therapy is a safe space for self-exploration, discovery, and skill-building. It is meant to help us be the healthiest version of ourselves. Through therapy, we can change self-destructive behaviors and habits, resolve painful feelings, improve relationships, and more.

FAQs

What will therapy look like?

At this time, I offer individual 50-minute online telehealth sessions only. I use a HIPAA-compliant video-conferencing software made for healthcare providers.

What is telehealth therapy and will it work for me?

Telehealth therapy is the use of telecommuncation technologies to provide services remotely. It is essentially the same as an in-person session, only over a HIPAA-compliant video conferencing platform. Telehealth is convenient and easily accessible. It prioritizes the comfort of the client as it allows therapy to happen in the comfort of the client’s home.

Telehealth therapy is not a good fit for those that do not own a personal computer or smartphone, and have access to a stable internet connection. Furthermore, the client is responsible for creating a quiet and private space during sessions. Thus, confidentiality can potentially be at risk, as it is dependent on the client to ensure that they have privacy during the call. Telehealth is also not be a good fit for those with severe life-threatening psychiatric symptoms.

What days and times can I schedule sessions for?

I am available to clients from Monday - Thursday, 11 am - 5 pm.

What rates do you charge?

The initial 20-minute consultation meeting is free. After that, each individual meeting is $140 per 50-minute session. Payments are due at each appointment.

I understand that cost can be a barrier to accessing quality therapy services. Therefore, I do offer sliding scale slots for those that need it. This is based on income and availability. Please do not hesitate to inquire more about it.

Do you take insurance?

I am an out-of-network provider. I do not bill insurance directly. I am happy to provide a receipt for services for you to submit directly to your insurance company for reimbursement.

Please contact your insurance membership services to inquire about their reimbursement rates for out-of-network providers prior to our initial session.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept Visa, Mastercard, and HSA/FSA cards. I use a HIPAA-secure payment platform for all card payments. I do not accept cash or check.

What is your cancellation/no-show policy?

Cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance by email or phone. Otherwise, it will be considered a no-show and clients will be charged the full session fee.

What is the Good Faith Estimate Notice?

Health care providers and facilities must give you an estimate of expected charges if you are paying without health insurance. A good faith estimate is not a bill. The good faith estimate shows the list of expected charges for items or services from your provider or facility.
